1st Half
On a hot sunny afternoon Wigan Athletic Ladies U15’s lined up to play Birkdale in the final game of the season.
Wigan struggling to get a team together called upon the help of the Charlotte Hull to play again for the second time in a week. Wigan started the first half and immediately a ball was passed up field to Beth who shot on goal only for the goal keeper to save the ball.
Wigan continued to pile the pressure on and the midfield of Charlotte, Helena, Rachel and Ashley all playing some neat footwork only to be stopped by the Birkdale defence Wigan continued to work hard this paid off when Charlotte Foley cleverly chipped the ball over the back line and Beth Anderton followed the ball to put it over the Birkdale keeper
1-0 to Wigan.
Birkdale continued to attack and Wigan were forced back this allowed Birkdale to capitalise and an uncleared ball allowed Birkdale to shoot and score
1-1.
Wigan made a change in formation to go back to
4-4-2 this seem to work and had an immediate effect passing from left to right this allowed the
2 strikers Beth and Ashley to make some good runs.
A blistering run from Ashley neat pass to Beth who shot towards goal was deflected out only for charlotte Foley to follow up and put it passed the Birkdale keeper.
